Welcome to Illinois Society of Enrolled Agents

Enrolled Agents are federally-authorized tax professionals who have technical expertise in the field of taxation and are empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the IRS for audits, collections and appeals.

Enrolled Agents prepare tax returns for individuals, small businesses, corporations, trusts and estates.  They act on behalf of taxpayers in whatever problems they might have with the IRS or state taxing authorities. 

Many can also provide accounting, bookkeeping, financial services and tax planning for individuals and businesses. Enrolled Agents may work for firms, associations and corporations in positions that require knowledge of tax law.
